Counseling Education: PhD Candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Eastern University.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapy associate in Washington State. I received my master’s degree in leadership in 2014 and in 2022 completed my therapy licensure requirements as part of my doctoral program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Eastern University. In my online therapy practice, I integrate several evidence-based frameworks for therapy to help my clients improve well-being and to reduce challenging symptoms within and between individuals. My therapeutic assumption is that the core of each person is a self that contains deep wisdom, is self-healing, and can promote wellness in one’s own life and the lives of others.
In my clinical practice, individual treatment is available for those experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment and life transition difficulties, trauma, family and relationship stress, identity development, challenges with religion and spirituality, and grief and loss. I offer couples counseling for enhancing partner support, reestablishing emotional and physical bonds, and improving communication. Family therapy can help to improve interactions, reduce conflicts, and establish helpful relational patterns across generations. Notably, I am committed to providing therapeutic services that affirm the dignity, worth, and value of all individuals, couples, and families— respectful and honoring of experiences related to race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexuality, religious and spiritual backgrounds, physical and mental abilities, appearance, family composition, and socio-economic status.
Every therapist and client relationship brings about something different. My style tends to be compassionate, experiential, and strengths-based. I know therapy is an investment of time, energy, and money— therefore, we will put every moment of our time together to good use.
Most importantly, I work with clients to customize the best approach for their therapeutic journey.
Sometimes this means we...
Take time to reflect in an accepting, purposeful, and confidential space.
Better understand contexts related to mental health—including environment, biology, thoughts and emotions, social experiences, societal factors, and sources of meaning and purpose.
Explore deep psychological insights regarding experience of the self as well as our relationships to others and to the world.
Identify and celebrate personal strengths and sources of well-being.
Develop skills in coping with stress, anxiety, depression, and related challenges.
Engage in mindful exercises to build resiliency and promote body-mind awareness.
Practice effective communication skills.
Establish goals and execute plans for making positive changes.
Integrate thoughts and emotions into an empowering framework from which to live.
On a personal note, I have lived in many parts in the great state of Washington—Vancouver, Spokane, Tacoma, and Pullman. I am a spouse, a parent, and a lover of the outdoors, music, and self-development. When I am not with family, you may find me walking our dog with podcast in ear or perhaps reading or writing in a local coffee shop. Some find me light-hearted and joyful, others note my pursuit for depth and meaning—as a therapist, I like to believe I express a bit of both.
Please note: I am only licensed to see clients in the State of Washington and am currently only meeting via secure video platform.
I am partnered with Mindful Therapy Group for scheduling and billing insurance (Premera, Kaiser, Kaiser NW, PacificSource, Cigna, and Aetna).
